The man behind some of the Best Large Mouth Bass in the region.
I have spent years cruising and fishing the St. John's River, but I caught the biggest bass on the pier at Runaway Bay. There are some excellent fishing spots as well as social spots at the 3 springs that feed Lake George Juniper Creek, Silver Springs Glen and Salt Springs. Lake George is 6 miles wide and 12 miles long and has a high salt content that allows for salt and fresh water fish to survive in the brackish waters that are brought in by the tides of the Atlantic Ocean and the springs themselves. You can catch Crappie, Bluegill, Flounder, Bass, Catfish, shrimp, crab and many other species year round at Runawya Bay.
Tip: Use Weedless Rig with large hook and smaller bait in the early morning and late afternoon. Shiners work well for bait and you can get them right next door at The Pine island Marina/Bar.

Christina is our resident interior decorator. Christina has been responsible for making the signs, artwork and decor for the entire property. Christina also plants, gathers and arranges the fresh herbs and wild flowers for the home.
Kennedy is the resident inn-keeper and is responsible for handling guest requests and scheduling Rentals. Kennedy strives to make sure that your experience at Runaway Bay Lodge is safe, fun and trouble free.
About Your Hosts, Kennedy & Christina...
We love to travel! Christina and I live, work and play in Volusia County, Florida, home of the world famous Daytona Beach, Ponce Deleon Springs and The St Johns River. Christina has been a real estate agent in Central Florida since 2007 and has worked in the legal and title fields and I have been in real estate investing and finance since 1991. Together we offer a great wealth of experience to our clients here in Central Florida. We own boats, kayaks and john boats and enjoy all outdoor activities, especially on the water. We have 4 children and a son in law ages 8 - 25. Christina's a Gator so far 2 children are FSU Graduates. It looks like the others want to go to FSU as well. We love to be on the water or in the mountains, and we have fashioned our private waterfront vacation property to be clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and very private, for couples, families and individuals. Our place has only 2 vacation homes that can be rented all together, or individually. Our motto is "Come as Guests, Leave as Friends". In order to provide the best lodging experience for our guests, we have tried to include the things that we like to have when we are traveling, like bikes, kayaks, fishing gear, games, books, game room/bar area, grill, free laundry, etc. We have a private vacation home that we love to share with others. We welcome all travelers looking for quality waterfront accommodations in a private, secluded area that does not have high rise hotels and crowded waterways. Runaway Bay Lodge is perfect for couples, and is still only 45 minutes from Daytona Beach and about 1 hour from Orlando. We are about 45 minutes to St. Augustine and only about 90 minutes from Jacksonville. So, even though we are out of the way, we are close to major attractions, like Disney, Epcot, Universal Studios, Sea World, etc. The best part is, you hardly even have to use the interstate to get to these destinations, because there are great back roads that get you to the attractions without the tourist traffic on the interstate. This makes our location great for travelers to Bike Week, Spring Break, Beach Week and Nascar events in Daytona. We have breathtaking waterfront views and guaranteed spectacular sunsets. We love to take the boat out for a cruise or an evening fishing trip. We also enjoy a bike ride or a hike on the trails in the forest. Runaway Bay Lodge is a great getaway for our family's lifestyle and for those who seek a unique getaway from the city, or basic daily life. We also offer docking for your boat or PWC, if you come to visit. Boat Rentals and Charters are available nearby. We are currently planning our private Caribbean sailing adventure to visit our property in Runaway Bay, Jamaica that we are looking forward to opening for our guests in The Summer of 2020. RUNAWAY BAY LODGE was named after the beach town, Runaway Bay, in the parish of St. Ann, on Jamaica's North Coast, the home of our R.B.L. Jamaica Bamboo Resort Cottages 2020 project. Jamaica is known for its laid back island lifestyle and we try to maintain the same relaxed island feel, here at Runaway Bay Lodge, to help you relax, unwind and enjoy your stay. Our clock is always set to 5:00PM! Whether you're traveling solo, with your significant other, with a friend, with a group, or with your family, you can make some great memories at Runaway Bay.

The Stargazer 2 Bedroom Waterfront is a romantic waterfront getaway for couples or a memorable family vacation. Our waterfront 2 Bedroom home is a favorite among our returning guests. Each bedroom features a queen size bed and there is a queen size sofa sleeper, in the living room. The Stargazer has beautiful water views from every room, and a large private covered and screened waterfront patio looking straight out to the lake towards the setting sun every evening. This is the largest single unit at Runaway Bay with large kitchen, living room and private back deck and covered patio. This is the perfect seasonal rental for snowbirds, or temporary housing while looking for your new Florida home. The Stargazer is perfect for a small family, but is often used by couples. The Stargazer can sleep 6 people in 2 queen size beds and 1 queen size sleeper sofa.
The One Love Studio is a great retreat for couples or budget minded guests. The One Love Studio is the original cabin that was built on this property back in 1934. A lot has changed with the various owners, over the years, adding on to the original cabin, but the rustic charm of this authentic "Old Florida" home remains preserved. Even the huge pecan tree was preserved and the deck and buildings were built around the tree. The One Love Studio has a full kitchen and bathroom, as well as a private back patio with lake view and a hot outdoor shower for 2. If you're trying to really get away without breaking the bank, The One Love Studio is a great choice for 2, but can sleep up to 4, in 2 full size beds.
Group Therapy 3 Bedroom Waterfront is a combination of The Stargazer and The One Love Studio. Group Therapy at Runaway Bay Lodge offers a full 3 bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms and an outdoor hot and cold shower on the back patio.
